Here’s what we think stars should wear to the Lux Style Awards red carpet.
It’s that time of the year again! The Luxies (as industry insiders call the Lux Style Awards) are almost upon us and we couldn’t be more excited. It’s going to be an evening of glamour, entertainment and lots of razzle dazzle but more than the show itself, we’re looking forward to the fashion on the red carpet. No better time for celebrities to shine and show off their style… but more often than not our glamazons play it safe and end up on the red carpet wearing a designer they’re comfortable or friends with. It’s high time we changed the status quo and brought some razzmatazz to the best award night of the year. So we took it upon ourselves to drum up some outfit ideas for five of our favourite stars. Here’s what we think they should wear to the LSA’s.
Mahira Khan
Go to designer: Feeha Jamshed
We’d prefer: Ali Xeeshan
Mahira Khan and Feeha Jamshed are synonymous when it comes to red carpet style. Khan, who counts the Karachi based designer as one of her closest friends often sports her designs to events and as much as we love what the duo does together, we’re ready to shake things up. Khan, with her classic good looks can never look bad, so we’d like to experiment with her a little bit. We’re imagining the star in an Ali Xeeshan ensemble, specifically one from his Spring/Summer 2016 Tufan collection. Khan in a slinky, metallic sheath? Yes please!
Ayesha Omar
Go to designers: Tena Durrani, ShehlaChatoor
We’d prefer: Muse
You don’t get a prize for guessing that Omar will most certainly wear one of her two favourite designers; it’s a toss between Chatoor and Durrani (who Omar wore last year as well). The Bulbulay beauty has a set look that we can always count on: glamourous and very feminine. Which is why, when choosing who we’d rather see her in, there was no better designer than Muse. With their Parisian inspired aesthetic that is slight androgynous in its
appeal, we can forsee Muse being a startling (but good) change for Omar. Hear hear!
Mawra Hocane
Go to designer: Nomi Ansari
We’d prefer: Feeha Jamshed
Mawra Hocane has something on her side that a lot of other celebs look back on wistfully – youth! Young, fresh and pretty, Hocane can afford to play around with her look as much as she wants to but more often than not her styling choices leave us uninspired. We’d love to see Hocane in a funky, off-beat number that departs from her usual semi-casual style, something that oozes effortless appeal. Think Bob Squad by Feeha Jamshed, presented this year at the PFDC. Whether it’s Jamshed’s shimmery jumpsuit or the dress with a sequined, floral bodice, there are so many options Hocane can choose from.
