Nowadays red carpet is another other word for glamour. It denotes high style and conjures up glitz and pizazz. A red carpet is traditionally used to mark the route taken by heads of state on ceremonial and formal occasions, and has in recent decades been extended to use by VIPs and celebrities at formal events.
We see red carpets at all sorts of events: diplomatic meetings, awards shows, movie premieres, fashion weeks, gala events and so on. Walking on a red carpet is considered as a privilege and taken as a pride by those who walk upon it at high-profile events. The hosts roll out red carpets to let their guests know that they are honoured.
In a recently held event in Islamabad, celebrities and models flaunted in their swanky dresses on the red carpet. Urwa Hocane, Hira Mani, Salman Sheikh (Mani), Sunita Marshall, Nadia Hussain, Alyzeh Gabol and Kanwal Ilyas from the entertainment industry were the focus of attention on the red carpet. The glitzy affair was held in connection with the launch of V One hotel and apartments by V4 International in Islamabad.
The hotel offers to provide state of the art facilities in Pakistan. The grand event was hosted by renowned actor Omair Rana and it was attended by a huge number of guests and investors. A ghazal evening was also arranged to entertain the guests. The weather was perfect and it provided a chance to Islooties to enjoy a good evening after a long time as it gave them a temporary respite from the coronavirus pandemic. The event was managed and coordinated by Dr Rana Asif at The House of Rana.
Actor, model, beautician and entrepreneur Nadia Hussain, who looked stunning on the red carpet, also shared few beauty tips for the interest of our readers, “Looking glamorous doesn’t involve putting on heavy colours with a trowel. Most people think they can just add more make-up and they are done with their evening look. To create an evening look, line eyes close to lash line with a blend pencil in a dark, dramatic shade. Sweep a light eye shadow from base of lashes to brow bone. Apply a deeper shade in eye creases and blend.”
“All colours of a rainbow are allowed to shimmer on eyelids, but remember to put on a small amount of shades. Lashes should be covered with a thick layer of mascara to make a look even more effective,” added Nadia.
